Americans with Disabilities Act
Share |

Under the current requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any program made available to the public must provide reasonable accommodations to qualified applicants or employees that have a disability when such accommodations are requested by the individual with a disability.  A “reasonable accommodation” is any modification or adjustment that will enable a qualified applicant or employee with a disability to participate in the E-Learning program, which may include appropriately modifying examinations, training, or other programs.   These programs are not required to make an accommodation if such accommodations would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the business.

According to ADA regulations, programs are only required to accommodate a known disability of a qualified applicant or employee.  The requirement is generally triggered by a request from an individual with a disability, who frequently will be able to suggest an appropriate accommodation.  However, while not required, the Loss Prevention Foundation sought out suggestions from the U.S. Department of Justice in order to make our certification programs more compatible and accommodating to those with disabilities, and each of those suggestions has been incorporated into our learning programs.

If you are a student or potential student of our certification programs and require any additional ADA accommodations, please contact the Loss Prevention Foundation.
