The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) once again partnered withThe Loss Prevention Benevolent Fund to raise money for loss prevention professionals who are seriously injured and the families of those who lose their life while conducting the duties of their profession.
This year’s fundraiser was a huge success, which culminated in a drawing for valuable prizes during RILA's Retail Asset Protection Conference, May 5-8, 2019 in Denver, CO. During the conference, the Fund raised $4,700 in individual contributions, as well as $1,700 from two solution providers, ThinkLP ($700) and Checkpoint ($1,000), for a grand total of $6,400, making this one of the most successful campaigns yet.
The Loss Prevention Benevolent Fund, originally formed in 2012 by the LPF under the name Loss Prevention Memorial Fund, provides financial assistance to the families of fallen asset protection professionals who lost their lives while performing the duties of their jobs. 100% of contributions go directly to the retail asset protection community.
The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) and RILA's Retail Asset Protection Conference have successfully partnered for six years in a row to raise money for the Loss Prevention Benevolent Fund. It is through these generous gifts and donations that the Loss Prevention Benevolent Fund is able to continue to provide meaningful charitable grants to loss prevention professionals and their families when it matters the most.
This is the third consecutive year ThinkLP has demonstrated their support of the LPBF and continuing to give back to our industry.
Checkpoint, for the second year in a row, also continues their support by donating $1000 to the LPBF and supporting the Loss Prevention professionals in their times of need.
“We would like to personally thank both of these organizations for their ongoing charitable support and willingness to give back to our industry, our professionals and their families.” said Steve Hyle LPC, Vice Chairman of the LPBF.
“Thank you once again to RILA and it’s entire staff for sponsoring the LPBF for the sixth year in a row. The exposure that RILA provides for us has helped tremendously in meeting and exceeding each year’s fundraising efforts and our ability to support our industries professionals and their families. Also, a huge thank you to all of the LP professionals and solution providers for their very generous donations and prizes for the raffle,” said Chris Duke LPC, Chairman of the LPBF.
“The LPBF’s fundraising success in Denver is such a testament to the strength of this community. We’re so grateful for this opportunity to come together as an industry and support members of the LP family when they need it most,” said Lisa LaBruno, RILA’s executive vice president of retail operations and innovation.
We give a special thanks to the entire RILA team who realized the importance of this charity and allow us to hold the fundraiser each year.
